Guest guest Posted December 25, 1999 Report Share Posted December 25, 1999 My daughter is 6, and I got the greatest gift for Christmas! She actually entered the sanctuary of the church at 5 pm kids mass and sat with the rest of our family for the entire (crowded) hour! This means I got to go to mass, too! This is the FIRST time I have gotten to sit in a pew (instead of against the wall by the exit door) in 6 years!!! Naturally, I clung to those wonderful 60 minutes as I tried to make it through the rest of the holiday! She had fun in HER way, but it's so painful to deal with family who do not value her ... I feel like the way-extendeds, friends, neighbors, and teachers do a better job of celebrating her differences. I feel like all of us on this list share the joys and pains when no one else " gets it " and I really appreciate being a part of this community. Thank you, Merry Christmas, and God Bless!
