Re: Inhaler help/hi Tom As far as I know, you don not need a prescription for a spacer. You do for he medication, but not the spacer itself. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
I'm in Washington and I need a prescription for my spacers. Question----- I use a spacer with my albuterol but I also take QVAR for maintenence and the package says use only with the mouth piece it comes with, also the place where you inhale is round and won't fit into either of the spacers I have. I asked the drug store and they said it isn't supposed to be used with a spacer and they have never seen a spacer with a round opening. Any ideas??? Does anyone else use QVAR and how are you using it??? Matt?? any ideas?? Thanks, Donna (Washington)

Guest guest
The spacers I use have a rubber end that is shaped to fit the albuterol inhalers and others like it. We also use the same spacer for MDIs with the round opening. We have to squeeze it in and it kinda deforms the opening. So we use one for the albuterol and one for the other. I am not to familiar with QVAR. Dose it look like it has its own built on spacer? Some MDIs do. > I'm in Washington and I need a prescription for my spacers. > Question----- I use a spacer with my albuterol but I also take QVAR for maintenence and the package says use only with the mouth piece it comes with, also the place where you inhale is round and won't fit into either of the spacers I have. Guest guest
I looked into it and the active ingredient in Qvar is Beclomethasone. If you can not get your Qvar to work with a spacer, you may want to switch to another brand of MDI with Beclomethasone in it. Here are some others.... Brand names: Beclovent, Beconase Inhalation Aerosol Vanceril Inhalation Aerosol I have seen Beclovent most used in my area. > I'm in Washington and I need a prescription for my spacers. > Question----- I use a spacer with my albuterol but I also take QVAR for maintenence and the package says use only with the mouth piece it comes with, also the place where you inhale is round and won't fit into either of the spacers I have.
