Guest guest
Did the metformin make her more regular? I'm just wondering because I think I have that. I always had irregulars, fought a losing battle against weight, am now insulin resistant/type 2 diabetic. I just began having a period 3 mos ago because I'm extended breastfeeding my 23 mo old, but I can almost set a watch by it, and I wasn't like that before now. Of course, now I have had a tubal so to be honest, don't care if I ever have any more, lol. Just wondering because I take a small dose of avandamet, which contains metformin. I've read a little about PCOS but don't know that much if I need to see an endo or not. TIA, Debi > : > > I have posted before that my daugher, (11 yrs old) has had periods for over one year. She has been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease/syndrome, PCOS, I've seen it listed both ways. This condition causes the irregular periods and makes the body insulin resistant which causes the person to gain even more weight. is on Metformin for this condition. Guest guest
PCOS affects more than just the ovaries. I think you should definitely follow up with an endocrinologist. ,RN lemobrn@... > >Reply-To: Autism_in_Girls >To: Autism_in_Girls >Subject: Re: Puberty /PCOS >Date: Mon, 13 Sep 2004 02:56:20 -0000 > >Did the metformin make her more regular?
