Guest guest
Hi Taryn, That sucks about the insurance. I pay just under 740 a month for and I. As an independent contractor I get no benefits. I was able to get into a group plan through the board of Realtors. Three years ago it was only 175 a mo for me. Now it is almost 740 for and I, and I am still trying to fight with the state to get c/s. Thank God my parents are helping with s portion. Thank God I also have an in with a real estate client who works for the state in c/s. She's going to do what she can to push us through. Should happen quicker now. WE got our DNA tests. 99.996% I Think the S/D is petrified now lol. -- Check into some other options out there. I heard blue cross/blue sheild has a medical savings plan with special tax deductions etc. It may be good for emergancies. Otherwise I would try to find a way! Also saw your family pic. You are ALL nice looking people. Where are you in Indiana? I am in a far west suburb of Chicago Good Luck, & - In Plagiocephaly , " Taryn Schilling " <devynskye1@a...> wrote: > I feel like SUCH a dummy. I called the tax lady and was talking to her and telling her I couldn't believe we owed so much and she asked me what I was talking about. When I originally called her she said we owed 42. I automatically assumed since we have owed $1100 two years in a row that she meant $4200. Who doesn't think of 1000s of dollars when owing the govt? Well, she told me we owe $42 and I about had a heart attack. I couldn't believe it. That was the best news of my life. I am sorry for jumping the gun and posting about it so soon but I was beside myself thinking we would owe them for the rest of our lives. We have owed tons in the past so it was just added stress from that. > > My husband's work told them last Wed. that they are canceling insurance effective March 1. They are a small company so I think that's why they don't have to give 30 days notice. It still sucks since I am on maintenance meds for asthma and I don't want to not have insurance for . We can get a policy for her and I through our insurance company but it's an extra $150 a month we just don't have. Keep your fingers crossed that nobody gets sick soon. I did find out that effective this year all insurance premiums are 100% deductible when you're self-employed so that's a plus for us. They are offering COBRA but just for they want $272 per month and that's not feasible for us. They only offer that for six months besides. He was only paying $80 per month. I am so glad we did the helmets and everything before all this happened. It's definitely a blessing in disguise. Thanks for the encouragement. At least one of our worries is gone now. > > Taryn and > Indiana > Re: We got a response from the insurance > > > OUCH Taryn! > Man, that is a ton of money to owe in taxes!
