Guest guest
welcome to the list...I have also read several of Bradshaw's books and found " The Family " very enlightening in helping me to recognize family dynamics...it has also been my experience that his books helped to entrench my sister-in-law in her victim role as the family scapegoat...while I agreed with her premise that she had been the scapegoat for the family was accurate, this label created so much rage and rigidity in her *they done me wrong stance* that neither she or the family ever got past this role right up to her death...I guess even good info can be taken too far...just MHO Re: Bradshaw > Hi All, > Interesting, isn't it, that we humans are so often unlike one > another in our likes and dislikes. Guest guest
i had the oportunity to attend at least two of his workshops and it was a wonderful experience. my favorite bradshaw book is " homecoming- reclaiming and Championing your inner child. " I thought I understood the concept of the wounded inner child but this book breaks it down, for each chapter there is a quiz and if you a certain number then you had trauma/abuse during that particular age period. I was really surprized when it showed that I had a lot of trauma before actually living with my mother, I had scored really high for trauma during the first nine months. I didn't find out until much later about the orphanage and the several failed adoptions but it sure made sense after that. ** , Stinky's caretaker** Froehliche Weihnachten, Merry Christmas
