Guest guest
Hi : I have 2 Bouviers and keep them out of the bedroom, also sleep with a large HEPA filter running in the bedroom 24/hr, our house is closed and a/c (we live in Florida), I use hypoallergenic covers for my pillows, the mattress is non-allergenic, and I wash the bedding once a week and dust/vacuum at least once a week. If I feel symptons, I first try deep breathing, which often gets me over it. Otherwise, I don't have anything I can do -- I'm trying not to use my Maxair more than the 2x a day it's prescribed for, although I know I can go to 3x a day. I also use Advair 2x a day. My real triggers are cigarette smoking, very cold air (that's why I like Florida), strong smells, and construction dust. I really just try to avoid all that. And now smoking indoors is forbidden in Florida except in bars, so I avoid bars. Carol Canter wrote: I also use Advair and Singulair. I'm usually a little tight first thing in the morning but do pretty well the rest of the day unless something triggers me off. I get triggered by cigarette smoke, other smoke like when someone is burning something, car and truck fumes, some pollens, too much heat and humidity, ozone, really cold air, and perfumes and strong scents. Sometimes major weather changes will bother me. How does everyone else do with this and what triggers attacks? Just curious.
Guest guest
Hey Carol, I don't have pets, but I really need to work on the dust and I probably need to buy covers for the mattress set and pillows. I also wash the sheets once a week. Our house gets dusty really fast so we're cleaning every couple days to keep it up. It's hard sometimes. We don't have ac in the br yet so we open the windows and use fans, otherwise it's too stuffy to breathe in there. I plan on buying a window ac unit by next summer, so that'll help. Take care, Carol Corley wrote: Hi : I have 2 Bouviers and keep them out of the bedroom, also sleep with a large HEPA filter running in the bedroom 24/hr, our house is closed and a/c (we live in Florida), I use hypoallergenic covers for my pillows, the mattress is non-allergenic, and I wash the bedding once a week and dust/vacuum at least once a week.
