Guest guest
I was pretty frustrated myself painting 's helmut. I had not painted in 20 yrs, since H.S. I had forgotten how quickly acrylic dries. I also forgot to dilute the paint with a little water. I did remember to use a wet brush. I had a little peeling near the opening. Took a straight edge, made a straight line down both sides and peeled the paint off near the opening. I have decided to leave that area white. is not too mobile yet so I really have not had a problem with chipping or peeling. I am sure that will happen once he is more mobile and I will remember to check for that Acrylic paint for plastic. I also used a 220 grit for sanding which is the finest sandpaper you can get. Also I was told to use a fine steel wool which would sand as well. & Cancel yesterday's post. One of the stickers came off so I decided > to lightly sand and repaint the area. Instead, the acrylic paint > started to peel off in large pieces. I ended up peeling the whole > thing off and the DOC band is white again. > > I will keep you posted on the decorating saga. > > Thanks! > > > >
