July 8th 2002 starting wt 287 size 26 wt at 9 months 172 size 14 starting BMI 48 NOW 29 7 weeks post op Hi, gang. Phyllis here aka pdkelsey. I havn't posted for a while, but have been reading all the posts and am glad that I am a part of this suport group. Congradulations to all of you who are doing so well after the ds surgery and my prayers are with those of you who may not be weathering the storms so well. I am 7 weeks post op and have had my share of ups and downs. My weight loss came to a plateau at about 4 weeks out and I was worried about it. I was also feeling very tired and needed to go back to bed in the mornings after only being up for a couple of hours. I am on thyroid medicine for hypothyroidism so I went to my pcp and asked for my thyroid to be tested to see if I needed to increase the medicine and so we did the blood work and sure enough it was low. My medicine has been increased by .025 which is such a small amount that I didn't think it would make a difference, but it has. The weight has been just falling off. I am 7 weeks post op and I have lost 40 pounds. I can't believe it. It is almost scary. I am taking all of my vitamins and calcium and protein and water that I am required to take to remain healthy so I guess there is nothing to worry about. WAHOOOOOOO!!!!!It really is working. I can't believe it. My clothing is falling off of me, so I will need to give them away and buy some more, or get some from our support group donated by those who are also loosing sizes. We have a lot of people that brings the things they out grow to the group for anyone who will fit them. I am so happy. If I keep going like this I will probably not look too bad for the summer months. I am down to 188 pounds. I havn't seen those numbers for years. ( Phyllis is dancing around the house doing a strip tease with great joy!!!) Take care. LOVE PHYLLIS
