Guest guest
I think they are over reacting. Viagra can be given with Ritonavir (present in Kaletra, and source of the problem) you just have to cut the dose. They should advise you, or call your doc for clarification. It's probably a liability fear gone amuck. On Aug 16, 2005, at 8:16 AM, PozHealth wrote:HIV+ since 1991. I took Norvir for years (even during that SUPER nasty time of liquid-only Norvir), and for the last 2 years have been on Kaletra. I have also had prescriptions for Viagra for all these years as well. Anyway, just last week my pharmacy (Walgreen's mail- order) has refused to refill my Kaletra because I had an active script of Viagra. My doctor had to call them and tell them that I would no longer take the Viagra. Only then would they refill the Kaletra. I know that there is an interaction between the two (I believe both use the same proteins to break them down?), but my doc had always just made me take less Viagra - and the pharmacy had always filled both of them with no question. Does anyone know why the pharmacy has out of nowhere decided that both drugs can not be prescribed at the same time??? Barrowpozbod@...
