Guest guest
That pretty much describes my daughter. Her hypersensitivity, tactile defensiveness--call it what you will. Did your daughter cry a lot as an infant? Mine was so sensitive, I couldn't take her out anywhere, she overloaded so easily. In second grade, we started her on Luvox, which helped a bit for the sensitivity--but made odd behaviors such as hand-flapping worse--clothes were not so " owie, " however, so she was somewhat easier to dress. She recently went off Luvox and was put on Seroquel. The worst time we had was with the sinus infections--antibiotics, then yeast infections--combine that with hypersensitivity and you've got a recipe for disaster. She also suffers from constipation--so I also understand what you are describing. The school even called me once, because she was afraid to go. Acidopholus and Calcium supplements, plus fiber help. I can't get her to drink much water or juice. Of course, she never drank milk. She's 10. I also received your other e-mail and plan to call you. Thanks, Mandy " Lyn " wrote: > --------------------------------------------- > Attachment: > MIME Type: multipart/alternative > --------------------------------------------- I am wondering if any of your girls are overly dramatic and complain constantly? I did not expect such theatrics from an autistic child BUT, my daughter complains of pain from head to toe every single day and she is very convincing. I am concerned that I am overlooking some sort of medical problem. We recently went to the ped to see if she had a urinary tract infection but the doctors tell me no. Still, my daughter screams and cries while in the bathroom and complains of stomach pains. I do not want to neglect a real problem but when I hear complaints all day long I begin to wonder if the problem is in her head and not her body. Just curious if any of your girls have similar stories. Thanks, Lyn "I'm on Aslan's side, even if there isn't any Aslan to lead it. I'm going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn't any Narnia. So, thanking you kindly for our supper (...) we're setting out in the dark to spend our lives looking for Overland." --C.S.
