Hostel announcements

I'm getting nostalgic now.

Thanks Ayesha for reminding us of the announcements.

A few sweet and funny ones i remember,

For a senior ('90 batch, i think) named Rakhi, her

announcement was " Rakhi, bhaiya bula rahein hain. "

Then one day our own batch-mate Sherin (Sherin are you

eading this? Please don't mind) came to call someone

other than Sujata (then his girl friend, now his

wife), and the announcement made for the other girl

was (say XYZ), " XYZ, jo ladka sujata ko bulane aata

hai, woh aapko bula raha hai. " This one had us in

splits for a long time.

And then we had a bai, very very lost, whom we had

nicknamed the drunkard bai. She used to make

conflicting announcements, " ABC, bahar bulate hain;

ABC trunk call hai; ABC phone hai " all three aprts

after a gap of a few seconds. Now we were confused, to

run or not, and to go in shorts (hostel dress) or

change?????
