Hi Steve,

Welcome to the group! The only advice I can give you is if CT said a

DOCband would benefit you son, then you should listen to them! They

are not in this for the money. They send many parents away stating

that their child is too mild to band. Your son is at a great age to

get awesome correction. At his age I'm sure he could get 100%

correction. If you do decide to band you will be in excellent hands

with CT. Please let us know what you decide. Good luck making your

decision.

Hi Steve - welcome to our group!

I'm glad you've already taken your son to Cranial Tech - they are

really a great group of people who never push their product on parents.

I've been with this group almost 2.5 yrs already (yikes!) and have

never read of negative effects caused by the DOCband. My daughter is

also a DOCband graduate, we are thrilled with her results. Babies

adapt remarkably well to wearing the band.

Have you checked on ins. coverage IF you decide to band? What type of

ins. do you have?

Welcome again, good luck w/your decision.

Steve-

Welcome to the group.

My son adjusted very easily to his band. The only trouble he gave

us was during the first couple days when he didn't like to have it

put on and taken off. He didn't care if it was on, he just didn't

want it messed with, but he even got over that very quickly and we

could take it off w/o a fuss.

My son was banded from 5-8 months with moderate plagio. Today you

wouldn't know he ever had it. So you could probably expect similar

results for your son!

Basically you need to do what you feel is best for your family. For

us that was banding. My son's asymmetries were very noticeable and

I didn't want to chance that it wouldn't self correct. We weren't

seeing that much noticeable natural improvement.

Let us know what you decide!

Hi Steve:

Welcome to the group, I call it the group from heaven, they are very

supportive and any question you can think about plagio, bands and

tort, they know, so you just came to the right place. My daughter

(7 months) has a flat spot on her right side, I tried

repositioning for a long time and it didn't work, but (you can give

it a try it might work for you). It was hard to decide to band my

baby, but I got to the conclusion that it's better safe than sorry,

so she will be getting her helmet at the end of the month, all I can

say it's that bands do help reshape the babies heads. I hope I can

help.

good luck

Steve, the only down side I have come across is the casting process.

It doesn't heart them, just makes them mad, mad, mad! Even then,

some don't even cry.

Well nothing is prefect. Smelly bands and sweaty heads can be seen

as a down side...I say a small price to pay.

My DD, is mild but I still want her head to be the way it

should be... round..

The bands don't hurt and will not cause any health issues.

I look at it as if my child had bad teeth I would get them braces so

why not correct their heads.

The younger you start the banding the closer you will get to full

correction. Go for it.

Take Care,
