Last night after I got home from grocery shopping there was a

message on my machine from the patient coordinator at Dr. Schwartz's

office. If you can believe this, Aetna is demanding an MRI. Not

for the tummy tuck, mind you! For the hernia repair! I called

Aetna before I started all this and was told hernia repair is

covered without precertification needed. This is soooo

infuriating! I'm sure I'm going to have to delay the surgery now

because of those criminals. I wish I had the money to hire a lawyer

to sue their butts. They're probably just ticked off because I was

able to prove medical necessity for the tummy tuck and so now

they're putting up road blocks for the hernia repair just to be

spiteful.

I want to kill something.

Tracey,

AN MRI for the hernia - too weird. What exactly do they want to see?

Take a few deep breaths... this IS going to work out! You have the TT

approval - the hernia is a no brainer - the MRI just has to be a hoop

they want you to jump through - and the new lighter, healthier Tracey

can jump through their hoop no problem!! winks!! :) Hang in there

honey!!

Tracey,

I would say kill your dinner, but you know, it's hard to kill soy..

Sorry, had to say it! *grins* That does suck about Aetna being a pain and I

don't understand why they'd want an MRI, but even with these stupid delaying

tactics, Aetna is still going to foot the bill and you're going to be

hernia-free with a flat tummy soon! Take a deep breath and as they say 'Don't

let the bast*rds get you down!'

*hugs*

Thanks Lee! I don't know exactly what they want with the MRI

since I just got a message on the machine and didn't get to talk to

Carol. She's going to call me on Monday after they talk to Aetna.

One thing I'm going to do is call my Administrator at and get a

copy of the handbook showing what Aetna covers. As long as I can

find the part that says hernia repairs are covered, I'll have the

ammunition I need.

Hugs!

Hi Anita! LOL! You know, it really IS hard to kill soy. hee!

I know Aetna will have to pay for the hernia but it kills me that

they're going to be able to cause a delay. It's just so unfair. Oh

well, life ain't fair. I knew that when Aetna wouldn't pay for the

WLS to begin with.

Sigh...

-You could be right, Lilyen, but then they're second guessing the

doctor's expertise, not to mention his honesty. That's got to be

pretty aggravating for the surgeon. I'll see what happens on Monday

after the office talks to Aetna.
