Guest guest
Oh Kerri, thank you so much. I was thinking that the doctor was just being real passive with the disease. This RSV has been shoved down our throat since the day she was born. It was a real concern for all the medical personnel that saw to her, and now to have this guy tell me, well, there's nothing you can do but watch, that just blew my mind. My insurance is going to have a hayday with this one, 1 injection cost $1700.00 that Aetna pays 100% of, now they are having to treat her for it.....UHOH! Dustie > Dustie, > > had RSV...it's viral, so medicines won't help. We basically had to treat > it like a very bad cold. No dairy ( had watered-down Gatorade for almost 3 weeks!) > 4. to help ease congestion, either take her outside (cold air helps break up > mucous) or into the bathroom after the shower has been running on hot) > 5. her fevers got to 104 also...Motrin > 6. we were told absolutely no cough suppressant medication because it makes > the mucous thicker and she could choke on it. > > I have to admit it was very hard feeling like my hands were tied...we had > many sleepless nights just rocking her upright so she could breathe. Take her in to see someone else or even to the ER. > > Good luck, email me if you need to! > Kerri
