Guest guest
Pete, I have sent the message prematurely. You say you usually don't do the assessment under 7 year old. Then how do you decide what to do with them? Jo Sato
Guest guest
I would try a C4 wide inhibit so this would be a one channel two inhibits and one reward one inhibit being 2-11Hz and the other one being 11-20 Hz then reward about 9.5-12.5Hz if within 5 minutes you should see the shoulders drop and relaxation occur if the child begins to yawn then move the bandwidth up .25 to 9.75-12.75 if the child still seems "on a roll" then move it down .25 to 9.25-12.25 this is actually a combination from three people that i have learned from and i have put together seems to work well for many of my clients other option would be a C4 P4 (my clients call this the Calgon Bath!) or a C4 Pz for aggressiveness depending on the situation I would however first try above all to do an asmnt no matter the age you would be surprised how well kids can do for an asmnt if the asmnt is still out of the question then i would look at other areas of possible disregulations through symptoms the parent gives you also as a parent - don't bring attention to it it may be a psychological ploy!!!!!!! best of luck

Guest guest
Pete, Thank you for answering, Pete. It is impossible to do the assessment with him. He cannot sit still. He often toughes electrodes without even knowing. He grinds teeth. He has done 25 sesseions. Jo 2009/1/9, Van Deusen : Jo,If you were able to do assessment, what does it show? What other issues does the child have (sleep problems, school problems, etc.)? With all due respect to the Othmers' idea that everything is overstimulation, many children who are " ADHD " are actually severely UNDER stimulated. They move around to keep themselves from falling asleep. Your continual efforts to train slower and slower might actually be working against that. The fact that he responded to a more activating training would suggest that may be the case. How many sessions have you done of these 7 different things? This kind of repetitive/compulsive behavior can often be related to midline problems. What do Fz and Cz look like in relation to F3/F4 and C3/C4? Pete-- Van Deusenpvdtlc@...http://www.brain-trainer.com 305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc. I have a client of 7year old boy who claps his knee continuously.I am trying to stop it and failing.I have done C4 SMR 12-15Hz to very low 4-7Hz.I have done T4/A2 5.5-8.5Hz I have done Othmer fs very low frequency down to 0-0.1. I have done P4-T4 starting from 12-15 down to 0-3.I have done nIR HEG.I have done LENS with him. When I have done C3 beta up 15-18, he seemed a little calmer but didn ft last,I am lost. Any advice will be appreciated very much. Guest guest
Jo,Then I would go with Sharrie's suggestion. Inhibit everything at Cz/A2 (you can do with one or two or more bands) and start with SMR around 9-12 Hz and see if you can get a response. Also, you should be doing HEG before every session, starting with 10 minutes and going up a minute every week or so. It may take a while to see response to this, but he needs it. The key may well be to pick one thing and keep doing it rather than trying many different things.Good luck; these guys are the toughest!Pete-- Van Deusenpvdtlc@... http://www.brain-trainer.com305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc.
