Many people always expect the worst of others and do little to help those around them. It must be hard to live in their heads. I am glad I have learned to thicken my skin so that I do not go through the "burn out" that many experience in the HIV field after being questioned and unappreciated for the work they do. I just saw the greatest documentary in LOGO (a gay channel) about these two lesbians who started the human rights movement for gays and feminists. They went through hell and still were able to accomplish great tasks, in an era full of discrimination and no Internet networking. That opened my eyes to the fact that great people should expect great criticism and failure and they proceed no matter what. Regards, Vergelpowerusa dot org"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do... And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." — M. on, A Return to Love
