Guest guest
I was looking over the goals made for Allie's fall IEP. One of them said, " Classify pictures from a field of 6 on 4/5 trials, toys, vehicles, clothes, food) What I'm wondering is what does classify from a field of 6 mean? Would I have 6 pics of all sorts of things and have her pull a toy or a vehicle or what ever as I ask or would I have 6 items, all the toys, vehicles, clothes, food and have her categorize them? I need a little help to make this one sink in. I know I can get her competent in this one within a couple of weeks, wanna show all her fall goals met by fall, lol. That'll teach 'em! TIA, Debi
Guest guest
LOL, good for you! There's a couple ways they could do that I guess, it's not very clear is it? I think they probably mean you would have 6 pictures out from 6 different categories, and when you asked for the category she would pick the correct picture. So if you ask for animals, she would give you a dog, etc. I can't stand unclear goals, b/c it gives too much leeway to say " oh, yeah, we met that, see? " when they really haven't done anything. I see that a lot. The other thing I see all the time on IEPs is " Goal met at 80% " or whatever, and then when you ask WHERE they got that 80%, they say " teacher observation. " gggggrrrrrr.....sorry, pet peeves....but really, ask for clarifcation and DATA on all goals and progress. HTH, Amnesty > I was looking over the goals made for Allie's fall IEP. Guest guest
Yeah, it says it will be determined by data collection -- I've yet to see any data they've collected. I asked for behavior data last spring, never saw a thing, gonna discuss that at next IEP. My other fav, as others in my school district have discussed, it always has a place of training and other things for the staff to get to be able to carry out the IEP, they *always* mark it n/a. LOL. Guest guest
I know I am not in the school district yet, but even with Ellas in home therapy, i monitor eveything. I check her dats sheets daily, and I tell the supervisour when I see something odd or out of place. I also make sure the tutors tell me everything about the session everyday, so that if their data doesnt go in depth enough, i can still keep up with her progress, and behaviors!
