Guest guest
Hello all, I haven't been following this group closely lately but really need some help. I apologize if this has been discussed recently. If so, could someone point me in the direction of the information already discussed? My husband cares a lot about our lawn but this year for the first time I really want us not to use standard fertilizer. Are there any products that he will still be OK using that are better for the environment but still help the grass? He cares about cost too... Last fall we built a new garden that is 20' x 30'. The soil in there is pathetic. It needs major help but we were not able to add manure this fall as was our original plan. What should we do this spring? We have a tiny compost bin but won't get much out of there right now. How can we find compost/dirt from a local farmer that we know is safe? I see that the warehouse will have compost, yes? What will the cost be? We'll need a lot, does anyone know of a farmer who will deliver a big load of compost to a house? My husband figures we need 200 cubic feet or 9 cubic yards of compost. Thanks in advance for your help! I'm really looking forward to my big new garden but want it to do well. Anne Ferguson
