Guest guest
One place to start with these questions might be the following web site: http://www.autism.org/ http://www.cgiworker.com/danlist/danlist.html The danlist is supposed to have doctors who use a certain approach toward finding biochecmical problems associated with autism. Not all doctors listed will be ideal -- it's up to you as a parent to decide if you feel OK about that doctor. It's also up to you to research and evaluate what they want to do, for your child's protection. For the record, I personally dislike the DAN folks, but some of their information is very useful. I feel that " Defeat Autism Now " is a personal attack on me as an autistic, and I don't feel it's an appropriate way to approach " treating " autism, which is established to be at least partly hereditary. You might also benefit from reading the web sites of autistic people, where you might get a more comprehensive idea of the obstacles autistic persons overcome and where our " behavior " comes from.
