Hi , I'm very familiar with Awana. Both of my kids have been going for the last 3 years. They absolutely love it!! And we are very happy about it as well.

Congratulations on the new grandbaby! You must be thrilled. I'm sure the baby will bring you all much delight and hope! Babies have a way of bringing people closer and putting life in to perspective. Congrats again!

I understand your budget. We were the same way a couple of years ago. My job was transferred overseas but now things are going better. I'm working at home and things are getting much better.

Stay picky about your cleaning products to ensure your good health. Keep an eye out for Q-15 (a formaldehyde releasing agent) it is also an ingredient in J & J baby shampoo and body wash so look out for that when your new grandbaby arrives.

Have a great week!

Hope

Hi Hope,

I was offline yesterday because of a church function, so I'm catching up today. I was at Mars Hill College near there yesterday. My church has AWANA which is a Bible club for our kids. We had a leader conference at the college. It took about an hour to drive there. I've been to Ashville a couple times so I know exactly where it is. I think I know which company you are talking about. I listened on the phone to some presentation thing a while back that someone else got me involved with. Even if it's not the same company, I simply can't afford it. Our budget is too tight to buy this stuff and we are expecting a grandbaby next month. My daughter is 22 but still lives at home and is due in October.

I'm picky about the products I use for cleaning and laundry anyway, very picky. No strong odors or anything like that. In fact, I spoke to the manager of the grocery store we use and he stopped the use of pine oil cleaners in the store so I wouldn't leave and take my business elsewhere. I'm highly sensitive to scents so I have to be careful. I'm allergic to some detergents so I can only use a couple brands or else I break out in hives.

Take care,

Hi . I'm in Asheville, about an hour from the Tennessee line. My husband says your about 2 hours away from us.

I was on Singulair very briefly because I found that it actually made my asthma worse. I haven't used the Albuterol inhaler but once in a year which is really great because I was going through 2 a month. I am still on my Advair but I only have to use it now about once every other week sometimes once a week if the allergies are acting up.

About a year ago a friend introduced me to an amazing wellness company. They specialize in all non-toxic personal care products and household products. Since they are a licensed pharmaceutical company, they are also able to manufacture a line of vitamins as well. I was very skeptical about trying them but I figured why not, I listened to their presentation and figured with their money back guarantee if I didn't like the stuff, I'd send it back. I actually kept the box the products came in because I knew they couldn't work as well as what I was getting at the grocery and I was going to send everything back. Well, wow I was surprised all of the products worked as well and even better then they told me. So instead of putting their products back into the box, I put the grocery store stuff in the box and left if for the trash man.

About two weeks later I started noticing a decrease in the inhaler and a decrease in my symptoms. It's been a little over a year since I got all the non-toxic products out of my house and the whole family is doing better. We are taking the companies vitamin pack call "Daily for Life" as well. All of our headaches are gone. Both kids are off their allergy meds. My husband and I are both off of all of our meds with the exception of the Advair. I was taking prevacid for my stomach. My husband was taking two other prescription for his stomach and one for high blood pressure. The doctors were also wanting to put us both on Lipitor for our cholesterol but with the last blood test our cholesterol is almost normal and the Dr. doesn't want us to be on the meds.

The company will not let me tell you their name because they don't want us advertising them over the internet. They want face to face or voice to voice contact to protect their reputation they have built over the last 20 years, but link to this URL http://wellnessrewards.toxicfreehomes.com, and you can see some of the products and will be able to find out more about the company. Also next time your in a book store, look for the book "Our Toxic World" by Doris J. Rapp, M.D. It is pretty enlightening and scary.

I can say that I thank the Lord everyday for having someone introduce me to this company because I feel so much better. I also feel good knowing that the I've been able to cut back on a med that has "death" as a side affect. I used to work for GlaxoWellcome (now GlaxoCline) when they came out with Advair so I'm well aware of the politics in the drug companies.

If you and your family want to learn more about the company, let me know. I can set you up to watch a webcast presentation in the privacy of your own home. Just let me know.

Hi Hope,

Welcome to the group. I live in Bristol, Tennessee. What part of NC are you from? I have had asthma pretty much all my life, too. I was firmly diagnosed about 19 years ago. So, you're not taking meds anymore? How do you control your asthma? I take Advair, Singulair, and use Albuterol in an inhaler and nebulizer.

Take care,

We love it too. I may be getting involved in helping with a special needs child there. He is slower than most and needs one on one help. I'm going to look at the materials and pray about it. Our kids love it too.

Thanks for the congrats. We are thrilled and can't wait. Five weeks to go now. Man, the time has flown.

I didn't know about that ingredient in products. I'll definitely look out for that. Thank you for the tip. If you have any more you can share, pass them on please. I appreciate all I can get.

Excuse me Sue but the cleaning can be done properly without causing a serious health problem like an asthma attack. You are not thinking straight when you call me selfish for wanting to protect my health. That was NOT nice dear lady. I am that way at home too. If I'm selfish not allowing smoking, perfumes, and other stuff that could affect me around me, then I'm selfish and darn proud of it. Get over yourself please. I don't allow the people who ride my church van to wear scents, and I asked our pastor to ask the other members to tone it down too. It is a serious health problem to all sensitive asthmatics. So, if you can use pine sol, more power to you. Take a sniff and get over it. I don't like trips to the ER, the shots, prednisone, and all that that goes with the asthma attacks I was having everytime I went in the store right after they cleaned. I had to do something. This is about the cheapest store in town and I've gone there over six years. I like the people there and the

manager knows us by name.

Asthma2 has been very quiet. Unfortunately, I have not heard from Layla.

Life has been CRAZY for me with travelling and all. :(

I was just wondering. I'll email her and see what's up. I get busy sometimes too.

I had to do something. I couldn't go in there. I'm not a store hopper. I don't waste time and gas going all over town just to save a few cents. It's not worth it especially at the gas prices now. The manager was great. He was able to find something to clean with without the strong scent. BTW, this store is one of the cleanest in town, always earning high marks from the health department in all areas. That's another reason I shop there.

Take care,

And it's a serious problem for migraine sufferers as well. I certainly wouldn't mind making that request to the manager.

And I don't think that telling a manager that you'll have to stop shopping at their store for health reasons is a threat, it's the simple truth. They're certainly not going to do something harmful to all their other customers just to satisfy one.
