Guest guest
The only problem is that the water that is used to rinse the veggies could contain microsporidia or cryptosporidia. Both are cysts, and not a lot can penetrate their outer shell. But, if you plan on cooking those veggies then it's safe, as heat will destroy any creatures in the water. But yes, bleaching them is far better than just rinsing them off I believe. So, when I go out to eat, I choose soup instead of salad. I get my fruit in the form of pasteurized juices, and the extra veggies I do V8 After you've had microsporidia like I had, you're extremely careful about what goes inside the mouth. It was horrible. wrote: Hey Chuck and the groupI put a tablespoon of bleach in a big bowl of water and soak vegetables for about 5 to 10 minutes. After soaking I do rinse the vegetable very well.I think that will kill all the bacteria from salmonella to e-coli.
