Guest guest Posted January 7, 2005 Report Share Posted January 7, 2005 Dear Meena, Here is a rough guideline for the treatment of CSF Rhinorrhoea / Ottorrhoea. (Courtesy my wife the ENT surgeon) If the CSF flow is position dependant, positioning of the patient is of prime importance. Drugs like Mannitol form the first line of treatment to reduce ICT. A CT Scan will locate the site of the leak and the bony spicule causing the leak. A small leak heals by itself. Sometimes, just excision of the spicule will help. In case of a large tear, a graft will be required. In Mumbai, Dr. Kirtane is one of the top experts in this type of surgery (endoscopic). Watching out for meningeal signs is very important. I wish him a speedy recovery and pray for his well being. Dont worry trust in god. I am handicapped as I cannot help you in any way from out here and also I dont have any contact in Nairobi.
