Guest guest
Dear Neeti, Labels: In MS Word go to the Tools | Mail Merge menu. 3 steps are displayed. 1. In the main document option select " Create - Mailing Labels " . 2. Data source - select the Excel file you want to use (you need to change the file types to xls in the dialog box that comes up). You will then be asked if you want to change the type of labels, printer, etc. Then you will come to a dialog that will ask you which fields you want to merge, once the document is successfully opened. You can add individual fields using the buttons there in and enter key for line breaks. 3. The third button is the merge button, once you click here the data is merged into the document. You can chose to ignore the button and click on the closed button: Once you do that your document is ready for display. To print it, don't use the regular File | Print command, just use the button in the mail merge toolbar, that says " merge to printer " . Xls to Word Document: Use the " Insert Spreadsheet " button in the standard toolbar (this is the one with the open, save, print, cut, copy, paste, etc buttons). Guest guest
Dear Neeti, You can export the Excel file as a comma separated value file. csv file (You need to go to Save as and then choose the csv format. Then you can open it in Word and the file opens in table form. Alternately, you can open it in Notepad and you will get the same file with values separated by commas. Save it as a txt file and open it in Word. Then press Ctrl H to replace all commas with <Enter> Presto! Your file is ready. Kishore Shah 1974 A Question For Computer Savvy Dear All, This question is for anyone who can help-- Other than cut n paste, is there an easy way of making labels directly from excel spreadsheet? Can we convert spreadsheet contents into MS word doc file?? If yes, how??? Neeti'
