Guest guest
What are you days/schedules like? I know a lot of your children get many hours of ABA, therapies and some go to schools. Do you have services at home? I feel so trapped so many days. I feel like we never have our own time to just stay in our pajamas or take the day slowly. I feel like we have a revolving door of teachers. Thanks Jen Re: Info. about PullUps/Diapers , I need better info on respite, my mom watches ella and she is one of the few people i trust with her. If she gets cpr cert. will they pay her? Theaputic horse what? Sensory equip...please explian how i do tihs... Ella gets 54 hours of ABA therapy through RC but that is it. Do you get other services through them? They are paying for OT, speech, PRT, respite care, reimbursing me for all the sensory equipment I buy (thousands $$$), paying for therapeutic horsemanship, swimming lessons and gymnastics. Can't beat it! > ... > Are you in CA too? > Aimee > > I am in Huntington Beach! > Autism_in_Girls-subscribe ------------------------ Autism_in_Girls-unsubscribe ---------------------------------

Guest guest
I have to tell you, that since converting to RDI, our days are a lot different. The revolving door of teachers isn't as necessary, and I don't feel so trapped by autism anymore. My daughter is progressing, we're more united as a family, and life just feels different, in a good way. > What are you days/schedules like? Guest guest
Jen, we're off for the summer so we only do what I think we can do. My advice to you. every now and again, call off therapy for the day and do something fun, even if that's just laying around. There's nothing wrong with needing a break and your daughter will probably enjoy it, too. Sometimes, even with autism, you just gotta stop and smell the roses... Guest guest
I have had clients do that many times. A day or even a week off here and there is a stress reliever for everyone, and can help cut down on tutor burnout as well as child burn out. Everyone needs a break!
