I have a child with Autism age 6 ,he has behavioural promblems, issues with concentration, cant seem to sit down for longer than 5 minutes at a time and he needs a lot of sensory stimulation throuout the day. He has briefly done some biomedical interventions at the Autism clinic in london and he's visted Breakspear hospital in the past. Nobody that i have seen has been able to help me with his ADHD symtoms and behaviour issues he has had more than 40 diffrent supplements since he was 3 . He is now 6 and i am desprate to find him some help for these issues. Can anyone advise me on alternitive medince that work for ADHD and behaviour issues as i am desprate? He is under the care of my local CAHMS and is on the weighting list to see a doctor at Breakspear.1. we have tried Melatonin for sleep issues it worked for a year then the affect wore of after a year. 2. Clonodine worked at night to get him to sleep more than 8hours, but then he had a allegic reation to it, as it contains lactose and my son has a dairy allergy.L-Theanine had no effect on calming my son down. I have tried so many other diffrent supplements and spent so much money on things that dont work for him. we have also tried homeopathy but this also failed please help as i dont want to go down thr ritalin route Thanks. Guest guest
This is probably too basic but when you mentioned dairy allergy, I immediately thought about whether your son gets enough calcium. A calcium/magnesium supplement has been quite helpful for our GFCF diet. Other thoughts: bodywork therapy like cranial sacral or reiki. Both of those can really calm the nervous system. All best, Holly
