Guest guest
Hi everybody, Rather than the usual kind of asthma related to pollen and the like, I experience severe shortness of breath. I am also plagued with chronic sinus for which I take herbs to clear the congestion. It takes a while for them to work though. Anyway, I can't take flonase, allegra and the like because they make me too dry and I end up coughing too much. Dry heat/cold drafts and sudden weather changes also make me cough. Whenever I have more sinus trouble than usual, the albuterol inhaler doesn't work well. My prescription is 2 puffs every 2 hours as needed for shortness of breath. Has anyone had trouble with their rescue inhaler not doing enough rescuing? It's hard to use the inhaler when I'm really very short of breath because one needs to inhale deeply. I was an athlete for most of my life and developed an incorrect way of breathing---short pants with an open mouth. I ran races and jogged for many years. Now I have trouble walking across the ball field at my granddaughters' soccer games. I'm working on breathing from my abdomen, but it's hard and makes me cough. Thanks for your input.
