anyone have a safe, effective herbal/alternative treatment for asthma?

My son uses ALJ from Nature's Sunshine. A combination of mullein,

horseradish, fennel,and fenugreek, it really helps with his

congestion/wheezing/coughing.Breaking it up and clearing it out

within 24 hours of use. Before we found this, he was on Orapred and

that stuff makes him a crazy, angry boy, and messes with his blood

sugar. I'm also looking at Oregano Oil, an antimicrobial. My dh and

I believe in treating the entire child,so we are also looking at the

Feingold eating program, a way to exclude chemicals/dyes from your

diet. All this is IN ADDITION TO, & compatible with, the chemical

meds he needs. Has anyone had any experience with an herbal/

alternative treatment for asthma? I'd be interested in your remarks.
