Dear List members,

One of my friend needs very urgent help.I wonder if you could make some comments regarding this issue please. He has a boy with Asperger, he is 18 years old now.He was in the residential school ,he finished that.He never had any friends, very isolated. He was spending his times on the computer. His parents were separated. He has a brother but not having good relationship with him either. He has agressive attitude, a few times had trouble with the police. After finishing the school, he couldn't stay with his father, so the council found him a room, sharing the house with others. He has sensory issues and also behavioural.Soon he had problems with the people overthere and preferred not to go there, started staying at the streets. Then the council provided a small, nice flat and also supports for him, mornings and evenings.Again he doesn't want them to come, he doesn't open the doors to them.According to his father says he has delusions, he is

not really comprehend the situation .He stays at the street. His father believes that he has mental issue but he can not persuade him to go to a doctor. His father is a solicitor and he doesn't really want to follow the process called "section"!! I hope I haven't misunderstood ,His father wants to take him to a private psychiatrist but there is no way either persuade or force the boy togo with him, nobody.

What can my friend (father) do? What options he may have. His fear is his son may harm himself or somebody in the public.

I would really appreciate if you could make some comments please.Who should he get in touch with?I recommended NAS and a few volunteer organisations.

Many Thanks

Nevin
