Guest guest
I hope anyone recently diagnosed will seek immediate attention by a physician who is aligned with current HIV knowledge and medication regimens. Early diagnosis means a much easier medication regimen If any). My early diagnosis AND intervention 10 years ago meant low impact on my lifestyle. 18 months ago I went off all drugs, and maintained a high CD4 count (btw 800-600), with a low viral load. We decided to go back on and this time the combo was even less invasive due to better drug combinations. You can't beat Once a day! ... take drugs faithfully. No such thing as a " holiday " of your own- that just gives the HIV more opportunities to evolve. One last moment of preaching. Take good care of yourself- eat well and exercise regularly. Give your immune system what it needs to keep you in excellent health. (After two weeks I was undetectable again and CD4 up to 1000) Ive been a NIH guinea Pig many times, its been interesting helping provide information researchers need to understand this disease. Last time around they could NOT find any reservoirs of the disease. My numbers suggest it may be on it's last legs, thus my next drug hiatus will be in 3 years. Doc thinks all traces of it will be gone. I hope he will be right. Early intervention helped. PS I'm over 60 and expect a long life ahead of me.
