Have you tried rubbing Vicks all over chest/neck? I've read somewhere that it also works if applied (lots of it) on soles of feet, covered with socks overnight – haven't tried it yet here though.Hope you get it under control quickly. Hi all, do you know of anything good to clear chest and nose of a 8 month baby , we had a sleepless night with DD having trouble breathing and she is breathing a bit better now but I am afraid that comes night time and she will be worse ....called the doctors (no appointment today) and he recommended cylon drops( not sure about the spelling) what you all think ?regards

Have you tried the saline drops which can be bough cheaply from local chemist.  Literally 1 or 2 drops up each nostril and they clear nose making breathing easier - I know they wont help with chest but if breathing is easier this will help with chest to a degree.

The nose decongestant I use for my 9 month old daughter is Sterimar bebe.baby 0-3 years and contains only purified water and sea water.Colleen
