Guest guest
Hello, I know that officially Xylitol is illegal in scd, because it's classed as a sugar-alcohol/polyol, along with sorbitol, mannitol, etc.. However, 2 things occurred to me and I wondered if anyone knew any more about this. 1. Xylitol claims not to react with yeast (although I notice from previous posts that it does a little bit due to glycemic index). 2. Xylitol is meant to be good for dental health for a number of reasons, one of which is that, due to its chemical structure, it attracts and then starves the bacteria in the mouth. I was wondering whether this might be the same for bacteria in the gut. I wonder whether there has been any research in this area. Any thoughts? Thanks, nah
