Hi Everyone,

Currently in Texas our formulary is restricting access of medications on the

formulary and with the budget submitted and approved by the legislature the

program should now be able to meet this request with your and everyone's help.

Dear Medication Advisory Committee,

The Advocacy Project and its supporters ask that all monetary caps

and restrictions currently placed on approved medications on level one and

higher formularies be immediately lifted. Clients put into a category that

denies them access to lifesaving medications goes against the basic standards of

care. The Advocate 4 Access (A4A) project is designed to leave no one waiting

that is eligible and on the ADAP program.

A4A is designed to allow clients to seek medications that are

currently on the formulary with added restrictions. It is in the best interest

of both the community and the ADAP program that medication regimens not be

interrupted so that clients’ adherence is maintained.

Medications are getting better and more efficient, whereby raising

the standards of care, and the budget should reflect all of the currently

approved medications. The CA.R.E. Act offers guidance for the ADAP program in

regards to the legislative process for funding, which the HRSA manual gives

clear guidance as to the scope of such a request.

Once again, as we start this campaign to grant access to medications that are

currently unavailable due to program restrictions, we asking you, to lift the

restrictions and allow access to all approved medications. I am seeking your

support for A4A in hopes to end the restrictions for Level I medications and

higher on the formulary.

Sincerely yours,

Please hit reply and fill in your name to help our cause at the next Medication

Advisory Committee meeting July 15th then hit send.

Thanks again for your support

Steve DeCorte
