Hi Tahira,

we do anti virals for a long time but my son does not have seizures, I am sure

someone will help you with advice, dr goyal did reccommend steroids alongside

anti virals quite recently but this was for anti inflammatory but in the end we

aggreed to use ibuprofen....

Any one on anti virals should probably take anti inflammatories as well... we

We were offered same thing and I declined, Sam has been on Valtrex before and mad, aggressive and totally bonkers, he is too big now to be in that situation. I might have continued if he was smaller

Tahira - I don't have experience with seizures but our son was prescribed Immunovir (valtrex) directly after a course of acyclovir during chickenpox in adolescence. It was terrible for him and produced scary hallucinations and delusions which he was able to verbalise (eg he started screaming that people were leaping out of the kitchen bin) - we stopped it immediately. Dr G said antivirals WILL almost definitely make the seizures worse during treatment but the end result is generally an improvement

And there was no way I could sell that to the school, he stays 4 nights a week residential which was why I declined

Hi Tahira, Not particuarly knowledgeable about all this but it's probably not as simple as the measles issue - my dd has different issues to your ds but her regression also began after mmr (booster in her case). I know that it contributed to her regression but i think it was probably the last straw if that makes sense. If she was tested she may well also show up with high antibodies to different virus including measles but i don't think it will be as straightforward as tackling the measles or whatever first off, it is so complex as to why they didn't cope well with the immunizations in the first place. What was going on that meant their bodies didn't sort this out - metals, fighting other latent viruses, poor methalyation ? It would be interesting if anyone on list had success straight off with tackling these viruses before any other intervention to help guide you, just thinking aloud really... Probably something you need to discuss at length with Dr. Goyal about his experience with all this. You can use the one from then, if it is the right test, as unless you have

chelated him in teh meantime, little will have changed.

You may want to consider using something like CEASE to try to clear viral

issues, if you are concerned about seizures, as anti-virals in my experience can

increase/manifest them.

Have you ever done or discussed the high dose Vitamin A protocol re the measles.

my son is mostly nonverbal so i shudder to think of this happening and him not even able to let us know this. but problem is how to deal with the measles issue to suppress it. is it the antivirals or nothing else. i need to be thinking of chelation too but would like to get hair test done. i have one from when he was three yrs but not sure if this can still be used to check the deranged mineral transport or not?

Our daughter is doing great at Acyclovir.

We are using it for about 3 years now and it helped her a lot with her obsessive

behaviour and it stopped her sore lips(herpes virus).

We are afraid to stop it.
