Guest guest
Has anyone had any luck with the drug Abilify? Both of my boys are going to begin taking this to try and augment zoloft. Currently they both take zoloft but my older son also takes Risperadol which has caused weight gain. We are going to replace Risperadol with the Abilify and add Abilify to my younger son's regimen. Thanks **************************************************************************** This email may contain confidential material. Guest guest
My son was on Risperdal for three months and put on about 15 pounds. I saw a bit of a change in the beginning with his writing and homework but after the first month or so no other change. When we went to the dr in January, I asked for another medication because he was putting on so much weight and because it really wasn't doing anything. She put him on Abilify. My son (8 yrs old) was a skinny 60 lb kid and now weighs 80 lbs and has quite a belly. Now his weight has not gone up since he started the Abilify and he has cut back on how much food he eats. He is very upset about his weight gain. He's been on the Abilify for a month now. I didn't see much change in him when he started the Risperdal but on this one I can see a change already. His outbursts have cut down dramatically and he tries to stop himself before he gets too angry. His schoolwork is getting done neatly and in a reasonable time frame. And it does make him a little drowsy but since I don't give it to him until 6pm, it works out good because when he goes to bed between 8 & 8:30, he goes right to sleep so we don't have any bedtime problems anymore. Good luck to you and your sons with the Abilify. > >Reply-To: >To: " ' ' " < > >Subject: abilify >Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2005 13:37:24 -0500 > >Has anyone had any luck with the drug Abilify? > >Both of my boys are going to begin taking this to try and augment zoloft. >Currently they both take zoloft but my older son also takes Risperadol >which >has caused weight gain.
