Fox News mentions infants developing Flat Spot

I wanted to leave a quick message about a 30 second news item I just

saw on Fox News tonight. They reported that in the December issue

of the American Pediatric Journal of Medicine an article cites that

1 out of every 10 infants develops a " flat spot " related to sleeping

on their backs. They said that it is not a serious issue, and just

remember not to put the babies to sleep on the flat spot; that the

situation resolves itself. No mention of the word " plagiocephaly "

or " molding helmet. " Talk about your fluff news item! Although my

husband and I have opted for solely repositioning to handle our

daughter Remy's plagio, that is not the case for many of you here in

this group. I would love to know if any of you have tried, or would

be willing to contact Fox News and respond to this report with your

personal experiences and stories about diagnosis and helmet

therapy. I think this news clip just reinforces the " no big deal "

and " what's the problem? " mentality out there... it just burns me

up!

I hope everyone had wonderful holidays!

I didn't see the segment Christie, thanks for letting us know. How

disappointing though to hear of yet another poorly done article about

plagio :( I just SO badly want to hear of a DETAILED article/news

segment regarding plagiocephaly vs all these half arsed " fill in "

articles that are continually being done. Grrrrrr.
