Dear gang, I need to unsub for a while. Due to family troubles I can't devote

100% of my heart and soul to this group anymore. Not for a while. I will be back

thought I promise. I just need some time to get myself and my life back on

track. I will miss all of you and keep all of you in my prayers. If any one

would like to email me personally please do. I will be on the computer so I will

be around. Love Always,

~~I HOPE YOU DANCE~~

Please forgive me, but I wrote personally incase you had already

unsubscribed.

I'm sorry for your decision. Ronnie's comments were not representative of

all our opinions. From what I know of Guppy, the list owner, she

will censure Ronnie for her actions. I hope you'll consider rejoining the

list. If not, please keep my address. I'd be happy to exchange ideas and

views on " our " kids anytime. My son is 9 and I don't know a lot about the

older children's issues, but are learning.

Thanks for your time,

Goodbye

As if being yelled at and dealt with in a rude manner wasn't enough. I

recieved an email at my private email address from Ronnie. Lets just

say it wasn't a friendly greeting. After reading it I am saying goodbye

to this group.

I don't understand why this teacher is so upset over Ronnie's

comments. When she wrote this email blasting her student's

parents...she had to expect that some parents would get defensive. I

really don't think Ronnie set out to alienate the teacher. I think

she was just trying to help the teacher see the parents point of

view. I for one would be very offened if my son's teacher insisted I

try the gfcf diet and to put my child on meds. That is a personal

decision for my family and my family alone to make. How can a teacher

even think to criticize me for not going the route she thinks

is " right " . Some parents simply can not put their children on the

diet for many reasons. This diet is expensive, time consuming, and

extremely difficult. I put my son on the diet for almost a year and

we were all miserable and it didn't do a thing for us. My other kids

suffered because of the gfcf diet as well. They ended up having to

eat anywhere from the laundry room to the backyard so that my son

with autism will not try to snatch their non gfcf snacks. I know that

this teacher is just trying to help...but don't you think it's going

a little overboard to threaten to leave a group because of one parent

that had differeing ideas?

I was surprise to hear e the teacher had resigned from the

group after reading her last post and she sounded sad and frustrated

I emailed her individually to be positive and supportive but I guess

my e-mail wasn't the only one she got.

Largely the response she has gotten from the list has mainly been

positive and I am sorry to see her go- hopefully she will reconsider.

I too think it is helpful to get a different opinnion because

sometimes I can get tunnel vision.

I'll keep her in my thoughts

How can we hope to establish a dialogue with teachers if we only drive them

away?

I too sent e encourage e-mails privately hoping that would smooth

over any hurt feelings. It's just another reminder that we can't put

" teachers " or " parents " or " kids with autism " in a group and make

assumptions.

I think we're all so sleep deprived, we forget how stressed out we really

are.
