I am unsure as to when you are back from your hols so I hope this email gets to you! Apologise for the lack of emails regarding Sam whilst you have been away, the emailing system has been down and today has be the first day it has been working (Finally!) Sammy has been in wonderful spirits and I can’t emphasise this enough! Only very minor moments of being a little upset but nothing he hasn’t coped with fantastically! He has taken part in all activities at school and at Parley 3, he’s enjoyed the new inflatable swim sessions we have arranged at school, bouncy castles, listening to his CD’s, enjoyed crisps at The Curlew Pub with other students, outings to parks, exercise in the playroom to his fav CD’s and DVD’s. This evening he won at bowling, playing with another student then visiting Monkey Business. He just seems in such a fantastic mood it’s wonderful to see him so happy, very vocal with lots of smiles to greet us all with! Tomorrow we have a school event at Serendipity Sam’s in Christchurch which is similar to Monkey Business so I am sure that Sam will love it, and on Thursday he is going to watch the play Aladdin at the Barrington Centre in Ferndown with another student which we hope he will enjoy. Sam continues to be a very helpful student, seems to get real joy out of loading the washing machine, putting in the liquid and turning it on (!) perhaps a little home helper for you? J He is also continuing to be very independent with self occupying, collecting things and preparing for breakfast and snack, and is generally a joy to work with! Look forward to catching up with you over the phone Best Wishes Emma D

Guest guest
Wow Mandi, that is all great stuff to read, and just wanted to say that the KIB500 that Sam had earlier in the year after the christmas from hell as you are well aware certainly seemed to do something here! formed poos every day just about with out the use of movicol every day since the treatment and then the chelation AC protocol which is going well without all the peeing problems we had with previous chelation so thanks really for everything! So pleased to hear Sammys progressl, KBO (keep buggering on!) we will til we drop! Di x To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Thursday, 17 November 2011, 17:28Subject: Re: Fwd: Sammy! Its been 13 years in the coming ..........hope you get there sooner! As most of the kids in residential are very very very affected, I think Sam is the only one who chooses to interact with house staff and that's like a breath of fresh air for them so he does get extra attention:) I think when he got there they wondered how I had managed to get him in (excellent SW) because most everything I had taught him at home he would not do at home but did without question as soon as he got into school, sods law and all that! He is gradually generalising new skills to home, the improved diet and choice of foods was the first thing I wanted to cross over and that's worked well. Not at all interested in generalising his dishwasher emptying skills or washing his own hair like he does at school but will change his bed if I don;t make it up and say nothing, Tom struggles worse than Sam to get quilt in cover. Waking hours curriculum 4 days per week from somebody other than me is working wonders. Next job to get Jane Stooks in there and teach them how to get the language out like she did. Also he gets TST for the full hour 5 days per week at school, thats helping too for sure, but its more subtle. The jump in mood was deffo KIB and chelation Mandi x I concur it is so nice and we see them engaging ...... He should come to ours and teach some skills to DS ....
