Guest guest
I find that changing to Advair/Singular made my asthma ago out of control alot more. I donot know why. My Dr. wants me to take it, but I want to go back to Serevant and Flovent. My Dr. is suppose to be the best in this area,... so it is a battle to change his mind.But,.... it is my asthma. Wishing you all good breathing days . Anastasia Yahoo! Groups Sponso Keep fighting him Anastasia no one can help you better than yourself. I've learned alot about fighting doctors with having a special needs child now hardly no doctor or nurse wants to deal with me. Sometimes those degrees really get in the way of helping others. Guest guest
I have to double my meds when needed but didn't have to do that for too long just when my lungs decide to give me problems but doubling seem to work for me with breathing on a daily basis again. I have no wheezing at all. I find myself involuntarily sucking in deep breaths every so often as my problem is getting air in.. not letting it out. Any suggestions? =============== I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it, but want to thank you for posting this. I'm new to asthma and my symptoms don't fit the " typical " symptoms either. On the rare occassion that that I wheeze, it's on the inhale, not the exhale, and I also have the feeling that I can't get the air IN. My main symptom is coughing, though shortness of breath runs a close second. I really haven't found much info out there at all about " atypical " asthma symptoms. It makes treatment confusing, doesn't it? I hope you find a plan that works for you. Joan I was diagnosed last year. My asthma is a complication of autoimmune disease. I am taking Vospire twice a day and Singulair at night. I added two puffs of Aerobid ( or advair.. I alternate them every few months to avoid reactions) and now it doesn't seem to be working as well anymore. I am having to use a rescue Combivent inhaler at least once a day now. My pulmo said to double my meds. But I am wary of that as I am afraid, if I do react to it from high doses, I won't be able to take it anymore at all. Have you ever been told to double dose your meds? How to you manage your asthma? My main symtoms are severe SOB. I have no wheezing at all. I find myself involuntarily sucking in deep breaths every so often as my problem is getting air in.. not letting it out. Guest guest
> > > What is your present method of treatment? Do you live where there is a high pollen count? =========== Well, I was on Singulair and had Proventil as a rescue. The Singulair did nothing though, and I stopped it. I don't have any allergies (had testing last summer.) So, all I have right now is the rescue inhaler, which I find I need maybe 2--3 times a week. I only take 1/2 of the dosage though. I'm also taking licorice root and thyme. I'm trying to figure out if there's something else I need to be doing--if this is " too much " proventil or if there is any risk of using it long-term. Joan > Hi Joan Thank you. And I, in turn, am sorry you are having problems. What is your present method of treatment? Do you live where there is a high pollen count? I think my symptoms have thrown my doc as he really isn't sure what to do next. That is really scary. As they say on the National Lung Assoc. site... " when you can't breathe.. nothing else matters. " Right now, I am just supplementing with my Combivent, but he says I shouldn't have to do that. > > > > From: " sunnione4 " <sunnione4@y...> > > Date: 2004/03/26 Fri PM 10:03:32 CST > > To: asthma > > Subject: Re: Tomorrow is my Birthday and Advair > > My main symtoms are > severe SOB.
