Guest guest
Dear Still's Support Members, My husband has been ill for over a month now and has seen 2 internal medicine docs and 1 rheumatoid doctor. His complaints are sore throat, swollen ankles, stiffness in the elbows, fevers that go up and down from 97.2 to 100.8, a rash on the backs of his hands and feeling tired. His sedrates were 73 and 65. All other tests were normal: cbc, ana, ra factor, lupus, lyme, hepatitis screens, urinalysis, mono screen, chem profile. He doesn't have night sweats so the doctors seem to be ruling out Stills. I read somewhere on the net that in older patients temps may not spike really high. He is 47. He doesn't have a history of any other illness but has noticed more stiffness in the joints in the last two years. Is there anyone reading this that has had or has heard about lower temp readings? Since Stills is an auto-immune disease, does changing diet and environmental irritants help in any way? The next step could be steroids without a real diagnosis. We're not real sure we want to complicate the picture with another drug. He is presently taking Voltran (anti-inflamatory.) Input about this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully respond. Happy New Year to you all.
