Guest guest
A friend of mine is going live on TV here in Sweden to talk about her bio med journey with her son and promote an up and coming conference in Stockholm. There is one doctor that will be there and he appeared on a previous debate program on autism. On that program he called the GFCF diet witchcraft and went all of the mums. I'm just wondering if any of you know some good studies or literature that could help strengthen their case on the gfcf diet and gut/brain connection? If you have any suggestions, they would be much appreciated. Thank you x

Unfortunately there is no time to read your book, the program is on Thursday but I will get around to reading your book and maybe buy a copy for my local pediatrician too! Guest guest
This is a useful link, 's book 'The Second Brain' is also worth a look. His view is very anti the idea of a GI link in ASD, though - this is clear from his contribution to the IOM meeting I spoke at in Washington about possible ASD vaccine links, so tread carefully otherwise you could score an own goal by giving his views too much emphasis.KenSubject: Re: Studies on GFCF diet and gut/brain connectionTo: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Date: Tuesday, 25 October, 2011, 9:20 Hi , You more than likely already have Gershon as reference but thought I would post this link just in case...http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=gut-second-brain & WT.mc_id=SA_emailfriend Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post | Start a New Topic Messages in this topic (3) MARKETPLACE Stay on top of your group activity without leaving the page you're on - Get the Yahoo! 'Gut and psychology syndrome' and also 'children with starving brains' are excellent books that mention dietary interventions. The former is for mental health disabilities as well as autism. -- is

Guest guest
The program aired this morning on national TV and it went very well. The mum was armed with studies and literature that was kindly sent to me but she didn't need it. They spoke via phone with Karl Reichelt who does the peptide testing in Oslo and they also had a professor in favour of the diet who was really informative. There was however a neurologist who wasn't so positive but she soon showed herself up as one of her arguments for not doing the diet was how hard it is at birthday parties for kids when they can't even eat the same cake etc... I mean really!!!! But the mum got the last word in on that one and judging by the response to the on line chat afterwards, it could not have had a better outcome. It's small steps here but today it was one in the right direction.Thank you all again for your help. xTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Friday, October 28, 2011 2:48 PMSubject: Re: Studies on GFCF diet and gut/brain connection Thanks is and ColleenAnytime and good luck. -- is
