The good thing is is now able to describe to us his problems with how he is hearing and how he processing sounds. His words " I can't take all the background chatter in the playground, it's too loud " and " When you speak to me, it sounds like something else to me in my head " Has anyone had any experience with this? Anything given bio medically helped? Yasko maybe? Chelation cured my scotopic sensitivity syndrome which included these sort of symptoms.Avoiding aspartame can also help as can colorimeter lenses.-- is
Guest guest
What is his speech like - is it affected by what he hears. My 3 yr old ds has great receptive language but the clarity of his own speech and speech sounds are poor. However like your son he was telling me he could not say the things other children in his nursery say. I spoke to ENT consultant about this at a hearing test and he advised me to look at auditory processing disorder. Since then we have started TLP(the listening programme) -too early to report results but I feel we are seeing improvement already. We are also doing YASKO. It makes a lot of sense but is very difficult. Makes it harder as supplements and testing shipped to/from US - real pain but for us worth it.BW Alison R Hello All, Good things and bad things. Guest guest
Auditory Therapy helped here with this - TLP was better for this than others we tried. Our son went from disordered processing sound against general background noise to normal after one round of TLP (10 discs) - not even using bone conduction headphones. Where sound is painful then Magnesium deficiency is possibly also part of the picture. Natasha posted something interesting the other day about low serotonin and auditory processing (see her LDM post on 19.12).HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE ! Guest guest
My son had similar symptoms because of glue ear. It all went away after grommet insertion The Listening Program and Johansen Individualised Auditory Stimulation. I would recommend doing Johansen over TLP, because it is an individualised program and we saw almost immediate results with it. Guest guest
TLP was great for Sam (ASD) because he couldn;t cope with the testing, Johansen put his brother Joe (NT) where he could pass a hearing test and was giving Tom (NT) a dominant ear until he refused to keep doing it because he's an irritating teenager.
