Hello everyone, I just joined the group and thought I'd jump right

in and introduce myself. My name is Chrissy, I am 31 years old,

married with no children and live in Missouri. I was just diagnosed

with asthma last month by my Allergist Doctor. He prescribed me a

Proventil Inhaler and I have to use it 15 minutes before exercise or

any physical activity. I also was diagnosed with Angioedema

(swelling of the body) and an allergy to ragweed, cat dander, and

feathers so he started me on allergy shots and 2 days ago had a

reaction to them and it sent me into a severe asthma attack. Thank

God I had my inhaler and called the doctor and he prescribed

prednisone to stop the reaction. So anyway, I am new to this and the

asthma attacks scare me to death, I feel like I am going to die, it

is so scary to not beable to breath. I hope I am not the only one

who feels this way, I'm sure I'll get better with how I react to the

attacks as I learn what to do. Anyway, am looking forward to meeting

you all. And one question, Does your chest feel tight?? Mine gets

so tight feeling and I just feel like I am not getting enough air

somedays, the inhaler helps some. And when I take a deep breath in I

cough, is that normal??

Chrissy
