A lot of people think it's bad, but I don't think it's as bad as some other kinds of things. My sublingual Vitamin B-12 has fructose in it, and I'm not losing any sleep over it. It's just important to treat it the same as any sugar, you don't want to be eating a lot of it. amount probably affects things for sure. A teeny tablet is different from a whole big serv of something with it in it. Fructose is often used in diabetic friendly (supposedly!!) products especially before the advent of splenda and nutrasweet which are light years worse. however since fructose impairs liver function it is not such a good option. Splenda and Aspartame are of course not even in the same category as food. Probiotics: Completely 100% safe during pregnancy. most are. Though i would avoid ones with Bacillus strains and sachromyces - like Primal Defence which has attracted some safety concerns. If anything, they'd make for a happier, healthier pregnancy. OMX is, of course, the best kind. OMX is great. and even better is LB17 which has the strains of OMX but several more and is guaranteed 100% vegan. see www.cybermacro.com to order it in the US. or contact ! Natren is also good and i think their baby acidophillous and pregnancy, lactation ones are good. They may have avegan option in those as in others DHA: No, I don't believe that DHA is vegan. most is sources from fish but it is available sourced from algae. That is where the fish get it I'm pretty sure it can only be found in fish. However, I know that there is research that says if you are eating enough Omega-3, and you don't have any genetic condition that makes it hard for your body to synthesize fatty acids, your body will convert some of the Omega-3 you eat into DHA. If you do decide you want to take DHA, vegan or not, I hear that krill oil is some of the best. i hear that too. check out the article on flax oil and pregancy - should be in the archives or google john finnegan, fats, pregancy -- Ilanit Tof - Signature Ilanit Ms Ilanit Tof B.A. (Psychophysiology/Psychology) Advanced Diploma Healing with Wholefoods PhD Holistic Nutrition (candidate) Little Tree Oriental Healing Arts Helping you grow to new heights of wellbeing with Oriental Traditions and Modern Nutrition ilanit@... www.littletree.com.au
