Guest guest
I'm all packed up and ready to roll. About 24 hours from now I will be on a train headed for Alabama. Due to a long layover in ville, Florida, I won't be getting to Alabama until Monday morning. Its such a shame that the government will spend billions every year to keep the airlines flying, but only grudgingly gives Amtrak a pittance by comparison. Trains are a nice way to travel. Still, the layover shouldn't be all bad. If the weather is good I plan on spending the day at the zoo. I'm going to take a book and my gameboy with me and I plan to find a fairly quiet place to spend some of that time. So, I'll be out of contact for a couple of days. P.S. Right now I'm watching Cirque du Soleil. Some of those people have absolutely amazing grace and agility.
Guest guest
e, One I really like is Friends of Mineral Town, or something like that. Its kind of a farming sim where you take over this little farm and you have to make a go of it. Its actually pretty fun and takes a lot of planning. I'm on my third game and each time I am applying things I have learned from the earlier games. You also can deal with the local folks. I also have a couple of other adventure games, some I haven't played yet. Maybe I'll get to them on this trip. The Gameboy does help since most of the time if people see you playing it they will leave you alone. Kids do look at you kind of funny though. I guess they don't expect to see an adult playing with one.
Guest guest
e, I know what you mean about being cautious with games. I've bought quite a few lousy ones over the years. One thing about Mineral Town though: a lot of it is kind of repetitive. Taking care of the animals, tending the crops and all that. You can make friends with the Harvest Sprites who will do the work for you though, but they can only work so much before they get tired, which makes them like you less. The planning comes in when you plan what crops to plant and when, organizing the various labors to get it harvested. Also, there are the mines where you need to get materials either for money or to upgrade equipment. You can also add to your house, making it bigger and buying things to go in it. You can also expand the henhouse and the barn for the cows and sheep (You start the game with a puppy that grows up and you can enter it in contests, and you might get a horse, which if you prove yourself, you can keep it and race it in the twice yearly races.) Now, you might try finding it to rent to see if you like it. I've done that with a number of games. There is another version out there, though how common it is I don't know. IN the regular version, you play a male character and you can court and marry any one of 6 or so of the young ladies in town. The new version lets you play a female and you can court and marry one of the young men in town. There is also a version for the Playstation I think it is. It is basically similiar, but there are many differences. Mostly the graphics are vastly different, and some of the gamplay is different. Still, I kind of like the Gameboy version, so I didn't plunk down the money for a Playstation and the game.

Guest guest
, I haven't seen Friends of Mineral Town, I'll have to look into it. I haven't seen any sim games but I generally am very cautious about games - I never really know what I'm getting into. I have had a kid ask to borrow my gameboy on a plane once. His mother freaked! I just giggled a little. e Re: All Packed e, One I really like is Friends of Mineral Town, or something like that.
