Hi, You apparently don't have drug coverage health insurance. Singulair is

expensive but for me it was a wonder drug. It brought me from uncontrolled

asthma to controlled asthma. So consider that when deciding to or not to take

it.

oh dear, i had a panic attack last night, and i don't ever get them (well, i

did last year when i was on the depo provera jabs (for contraception,

nothing to do with asthma!) but they went away once the jab left my system -

perhaps some people are sensitive to medications. i've been on singulair for

5 days. i have a slight headache, and that one panic attack. i read

somewhere that water retention and weight gain might be a side effect but it

seems to be the opposite for me, i have lost a bit of my water retention (i

get a lot of it) and taking singulair seems to work in the same way as

taking a water tablet works for my gran, lol! it's a shame you have to take

it at night, i'd rather have the active bladder during the day, and get a

good night's sleep, maybe that's what causes the headaches, interrupted

sleep. on the asthma front, i'm taking my reliever less often, and i haven't

needed any antihistamine since i started taking it, it's my hayfever season

and i was taking an antihistamine every day for 3 weeks before i started on

the singulair. i had an attack at work on monday, that was caused by a

customer with strong perfume.

it's odd that singulair should work so well for my asthma which would be

considered mild nowadays, when it didn't work for severe asthma, what a

shame :-( i'm sorry your asthma is so bad emily. mine used to be, i don't

know what changed, apart from my staying away from the animals i'm allergic

to. my parents had animals and i did when i first had my own flat. i also

have to stay away from cigarette smoke. if i am in a room where there's

smoke, or somebody smokes at the bus stop, or in the school playground etc.

i have to move away straight away. it's affected my social life, there

aren't any non-smoking pubs or nightclubs, but at least i don't go into

hospital any more.

if i can cope with the headaches and i don't have too many panic attacks i

think i will stay on the singulair until the pack of 28 runs out, then i see

my doctor again. i'm in england so i buy a certificate for around £90 a year

and then don't have to pay anything for my prescriptions.

spinal bifida

" spinal bifida " !?!?!?? oh my god, what is that hell?

Immm,it looks like somany diseases in the world!

Spinal bifida happens when the fetus is first conceived. It's where the

spine doesn't develop right. In my son's case he was born with an open

back. The spinal cord is very important part of the body it controls

everything. For my son he has to walk with a walker when he's not

having brain issues. He's also got problem with his bowels and bladder.

He can't totally empty his bladder on his own and he needs medicine for

his bowels to come out. When he steps on glass orrocks he can't feel it

an it'salso given him other diagnoses as well.

HUGS!!!
