Guest guest
First of all, welcome to all the new members. I have not had much time to be on the computer this week so I have missed a few intros and new additions, I believe. I had a family emergency last Sunday which has consumed most of my time this week. My 49 year old brother had a heart attack and it has been a roller coaster, needless to say, with that, the last week of school, and some problems with my daughter as well. The speaker for our next meeting ( May 24, 2003 ) will be Estes , a staff attorney with the Georgia Advocacy Office. Her topic will be " The Substantive IEP ". You will want to attend and make sure you are on the right track with a quality IEP for your child. is one of the most knowledgeable people I know in this area and will bring us lots of good information. I hope you can plan to make it . Luci Avery, Amy Hale and Dawne from the State MATCH offices ( two with DFACS and one with the State ) have forwarded me some very valuable information regarding the MATCH process, general guidelines and processes, the percentages and demographics for GA, the facilities, and a full MATCH outcome report. I will have that information available at the Sat. meeting. Our meetings are at Peachford Hospital ( the Conference Center ) in Atlanta from 10:00 to 12:30. We have a wonderful listserv and a website as well. There is alot of mail so you can choose to get it as a digest form or only read mail at the website if you wish. There is a physician referral listing, a " meeting and seminar " listing and lots of other information which I think you will find helpful. To any one new who just joined or wants to join, please make sure you check the archives as there is always great information and messages posted and I wouldn't want you to miss anything !!! has been alot of good information posted before you joined.
