Guest guest
Oh cripes, I never used it on Sam or me was was going to try SunTheanine for rmyself, bettr I think to trial the KIB on me next and forget this one lol. I don;t do well on GABA Mx Started giving this recently as so many seeing good things. OMG, ticcing, barking, totally ripping, raging big time, not seen this much aggression for the longest time, so decided to have a bit of a dig. It readily crosses the BBB according to wiki, and indeed he was wired within no time. Apparently it's closely related to glutamine although doesn't have the same excitory results, [it absolutely did with ] it stimulates Gaba, another crazy supp here that calms everyone else. Just thought I would post in case anyone else sees similar but doesn't connect to theanine. Really does show that even if the vast majority have success with something it's no guarantee for all and can actually have the reverse to what your trying to achieve. Guest guest
Hi Vicky Although we have not tried l-theanine my son cannot tolerate methyl donors because of his COMT ++ status (overmethylator). L- theanine is also a methyl donor so it may be he too has difficulty tolerating methyl groups. Some overmethylators tolerate methyl groups better than others - it depends on the combination of certain SNPs they have. Guest guest
omg Vicky that sounds awful sorry to hear , hope he returned to baseline soon after?? It does sound like he might be super sensitive to reduction (or fluctuations) in Serotonin levels - both GABA and esp theanine can reduce serotonin in the brain!!btw just wondering if you've tried him on dextromethorphan? Guest guest
I doubt that would be the reason for such a strong and immediate reaction. Possible, but imo highly unlikely - if over/methylation a problem with theanine more likely that the effect would build up slowly and manifest after a while. Guest guest
Other than a die off I have not heard of any, its the die off that worries me, I went to an equinox chi gong or something like that last Friday and didn;t feel a thing but came home and had worse yeast die off, I smelt so bad and that was 'just' energy..............hence my gearing myself up for actual treatment and have URTI that's been hanging around, so to the KIB I will go, Sam does really well on it Mandi x Has anyone had a bad reaction with KIB, please? Guest guest
Can't recall what happened to me with theanine but gaba was painfully excitory. 3 points I recall: Sorry discarded the references, and definitely worth checking up on!! 1.It is simplist to say that gaba or something that increase gaba is calming. It's about concentrations and if a person has enough gaba then it can be excitory. 2.In the very young (I'm remebering babies), or in those with primitive neurological responses (that's me) gaba tends to be excitory 3.According to Amy yaskogaba structure is very similar to glutamate and therefore it's best to be careful of the brand/the care of maunfacturer and the storage of the gaba brand you buy.
