Dear Ravin,

Congrats and Kudos on a neat job.

When I visited your website, the first thing that I saw was a

prominent banner saying, " Is your present job giving you a headache? "

followed by JDOS and Ravin Dos ..er Das, Secretary. Rather poignant,

what?

However, you can thank your stars that the banner did not say, " Do you

want to lengthen your ... er ... life span? " Or maybe, more

relevantly, " Do you want to strengthen your ... er ... acuity of

vision? "

Well, Ravin, cheers and hope that you do not need to lengthen or

strengthen anything, and that your present job is giving you

everything except a headache!

Good news - JDOS website

Dear all,

I am happy to announce that our Jabalpur Divisional Ophthalmic Society

web site (jdosmp.tripod.com) has been accepted and acknowledged by the

All India Ophthalmic Society (AIOS) (www.aios.org) and a link has been

added to our website on their pages.

Good to know my efforts have not been in vain!

Dear Kishore,

Thank you very much for the " compliments " ! :-)

No headaches there, a wee bit of tension, though!

That is the problem with " free websites " , you have no control on the ads

likely to be pasted by Tripod...

I am happy however, that there have been no embarrassing ads so far. BTW,

Tripod allows you to select the type of ads you would like on the website,

in the form of a general category, so I chose " health " .

Dear Malini,

Thanks a lot. I does feel good when batchmates start congratulating each

other!

I know but also I think it means a lot when batch mates realise/get to know

the achievements of each other. It means perhaps more because you know them

longer. When I look back to 1982 ashram days when all of us were scared,

teenagers leaving home for the first time ....naive enough to think we would

win all battles.....a long time ago. Now I would like to think we've matured

like good wine. All of us have added to our baggage of experiences, found

our own places under the sun. It kind of leaves a warm glow when any of us

achieve something. a kind of vicarious sense of achievement. Am I making

sense or am I rabbitting on in a maudlin fashion???

Not at all, Malini! That makes a lot of sense.

The keyword is " maturity " , there are a lot of foolish things we all have

done (earlier)... I wonder what we will be like when we are 64? :-)
