Guest guest
Hi , It really depends on what helmet you use, but the DOC band costs $3,000 for all casts, and fittings- that's the total for everything. The good news is that some insurance companies do cover the band, my plan, Neighborhood Health (at the time) covered the $3000- at 100% coverage- and I never needed a letter of medical necessity! I would contact the center your interested in, that's what we did before treatment and asked what the coverage was like for Neighborhood. Good luck- I hope there are more of us that start getting full coverage for this! ' Mom
Guest guest
Hello All, I see my daughters doctor again on the 31st of this month and I am hoping that he will approve a devise for her sweet little head. It never occured to me until I joined this group that an insurance co. wouldn't cover it. Now that I know it may not be covered and that there is a good chance that I may be paying for this out of pocket, how much are we talking? I am prepared for the worst, so don't bother breaking it to me gently . Thanks, , mom of Makenna and Cameron
Guest guest
My son's STARband cost $2200, but insurance did cover it. I believe the DOCband is $3000. Most places will do payment plans. Guest guest
: YOu've already gotten many replies, but my daughter wore both a STARband & a DOCband. Her STARband was $1100.00, and her DOCband was $3,000.00. My ins. covered both bands at 50% copay- it was covered as " durable medical equipment " (DME)......IF your ins. does deny coverage, appeal appeal appeal!!!!! Who is your insuance thru? Guest guest
I live in Blue springs MO and Jenna's Starband was 1500.00. Maybe your insurance will come through and you wont have to worry about it. GOOD LUCK! Angie and Jenna(starbanded 10/21) $$? Guest guest
I am so new at this, I have no idea. I am going to call UHC and start asking questions (now that I know what to ask!) Thanks again, all of you. You have been so wonderful with your advise. > - > Do you have an orthotics exclusion with UHC? > > Dane's mom DOC Grad
