Guest guest
Elly, it is so good to hear from you and I had to laugh, because I had a beautiful black German Shepard years ago, named " bear " , he was something else, and my ex was a Connecticut state trooper and just came out of the academy and they wanted him to go into the K9 unit, so we purchased this beautiful Shepard puppy and named him bear, also because of his color, well...wouldn't you know, that....that puppy was too much for him, because he couldn't sleep. He was such a baby and of course, a new puppy being away from it's mother is so hard at first, and I also got no sleep...to make a long story short, my ex....threw the puppy outside in 20 degree weather....yes, that's how miserable he was, and I in turn ended up taking care of him because my ex wouldn't. He changed his mind on the K9 unit thing, and I was pregnant with our second child, and that's when my husband left me, so " Bear " was too much for me to handle, because I already had a another child and another dog, so I gave " Bear " to one of my best friends, who was also a state trooper, well...he took that dog all the way to the State Police Academy and he ended up being the #1 dog in the State Of Connecticut. His pictures were all over the newspapers and in some magazines. He saved two children in a burning fire and caught several burglars and drug dealers. His picture hung in the state capitol for a while. He was just incredible, so you never know.....you could have another " star " on your hands. I know it's so rough to start out with a puppy, we forget how much work they are, but they are so well worth it. I bet he's adorable Elly. It is so nice to hear from you and I hope that you arm will be feeling better soon friend. You are in my thoughts......PS....did you try the ticking alarm clock underneath his dog bed, so it reminds him of his mom, or the heating pad on a very low setting....this seemed to help my Great Dane when he was a pup. Be well Elly. Love, Sue #
